What is Take Over Friday?
D.A. Peartree, the Publisher of Black Book AZ (BBAZ) and curator of this event, describes it; “TakeOver Friday is a three hour networking activity designed to introduce our readers to a diverse environment in the comfort of their own community”. The plan: meet new people at an exciting venue with no cover charge and no RSVP required. You are simply invited to stop by for 10 minutes, shake a hand, make a friend and check out a new place. Historically, average attendance reaches 200+ attendees.
BBAZ readers are both residence and businesses. There is no ethnic stipulation to participate. You don’t have to be in business, you don’t have to be Black. You have to be willing to meet a sample of the Black community in a welcoming fashion. BBAZ provides information that brings people together. Attendees are encouraged to bring their new neighbors, coworkers or bring any newcomer to the state who is seeking to get weaved into the fiber of the community.
Take Over Friday takes place each month on the second (2nd) Friday between 5pm – 8 pm.
The locations vary each month and are not announced until the week of. Part of the excitement and entertainment is spontaneously adventuring to a new place. While the other part is creating a fun filled and friendly room where least expected.
TOF location announcements will begin March 9th. To get updates on Entertainment and more “Sign Up” at www.BlackBookAZ.com.
