It is my mission as a resident of Pinal County, in Arizona to partner with the citizens of our community to preserve life, maintain human rights, protect property, and promote individual responsibility and community commitment. This teamwork effort is the move of the future.

Philosophy Crime and public safety are community problems. There-fore, citizens and the law enforcement community must work together to solve them. Community policing, based on a partnership between the police and the community, help keep neighborhoods crime free through building relationships that last.

Code of Ethics As a former law enforcement officer, my primary duty was to serve the community; to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the rights of all to liberty, equality and justice.

As a private citizen of Pinal County it would make me the humblest of men to be a part of protecting this county. As your Sheriff for Pinal County it would be my honor and duty to continue to serve the citizens of Pinal County.

I recognize the badge of my office as a symbol of public faith and sworn an oath as my firm covenant to serving Pinal county to the best of my ability and I accept it as a public trust to be held so long as I am true to the ethics of police service. I will never engage in acts of corruption or bribery, nor will I condone such acts by other police officers. I will cooper-ate with all legally authorized agencies and their representatives in the pursuit of justice.

I know that I alone am accountable for my own standard of professional performance and will take every reasonable opportunity to enhance and improve my level of knowledge and competence.

I will constantly strive to achieve these objectives and ideals, dedicating myself to my chosen enforcement.

As the chair of Maricopa Democratic Party and Vice President of the NAACP, I endeavor to use the skills and experience I have acquired to create and build ongoing sustainable partnerships with Pinal County and to all those I am accountable to.

I am fully committed and will continue to take pride in my work, in dedication to public services, and in being the best we can be.

Everyone deserves a “Fair Go.”
