PHOENIX, AZ? - The State of Black Arizona, an independent, nonpartisan organization that informs Arizonans on the status of African Americans in the state, hosts its first State of Black Civic Participation report in partnership with the Arizona Center for Civic Leadership, Arizona African American Caucus, and YWCA Stand Together Arizona Training & Advocacy Center. On December 1, 2017 in both Phoenix and Tucson we will present nonpartisan data on voters and explore ways to engage more Arizonans. Our goal is to inform, strengthen and empower our community to make voting and civic participation a cultural responsibility and tradition.?

The State of Black Arizona has received numerous inquiries in regards to data about civic participation and leadership in our community. We now see a chance to raise awareness about civic participation, share information from many perspectives about opportunities for involvement, encourage potential leaders to be more active in their communities and at the state level.
