(Glendale, Ariz.) - Will Mitchell, founder of Sigma Cuts School of Beauty, is changing how the education service industry is funded in Arizona.

Sigma Cuts School of Beauty is an Arizona nonprofit organization that educates aspiring cosmetologist at no cost to students. Because it's a nonprofit, customers can write off their service fees since the money is going toward a student's tuition. This also allows any businesses or individuals that want to get involved in the growing enterprise to write off their contributions.

The funding concept behind Sigma Cuts is to sell beauty memberships to customers for a monthly fee of $50, which allows members unlimited services on hair, nails, facials and makeup application. This monthly membership fee goes toward the student's education.

Sigma Cuts student Jose Nanez looked at many schools before meeting Mitchell.

"I spoke to a few different schools before speaking to Will, but the other beauty schools didn't seem to share my excitement to get involved in cosmetology," Nanez said. "They treated me as tuition."

"Will's passion is infectious, and I'm excited to be a part of Sigma Cuts from the beginning. I plan to do everything I can to become a successful beauty consultant. Will is someone I look up to and I feel grateful to be a part of his mission."

Sigma Cuts School of Beauty is a part of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce that supports the community with economic development, education and prosperous businesses.

Our objective is to train each student in the technical and social skills necessary to be a successful, competent cosmetologist and/or esthetician.  Instruction takes place through a combination of theory class, practical work, clinic experience, group and individual activities.  At the completion of our program, the student is prepared to enter the beauty profession and continue to grow and develop and make a contribution to the profession.
